Spotlight on: On Guard

There are so many great essential oils that DoTerra has I can’t even begin to list them all.

However, since I am an avid user of them, as I use them and learn all there is to know, I’ll share that knowledge here.

Flu season has it hard this year and with it panic. People who don’t and even those who do get the flu shot are always looking for ways to avoid influenza. You can always lock yourself in your house until flu season is over but that can get really boring, fast.

Hand washing is always a must, taking vitamin C helps, using ItWorks Immunity is amazing and then we have On Guard!

This stuff is awesome!!! It’s a protective blend designed to protect and support your immune system. One of the great things with this one is you can diffuse it in your house, take two drops internally to give your immune system a boost (tastes great in coffee), you can even mix it with fractionated coconut oil and rub it on your hands, etc… as a natural cleanser. Which means you can even mix it with water in a spray bottle and use it as an all purpose cleaner!!!!.

Why a better way to keep yourself and house germ safe than to use this awesome product.

Clean Your Windows!!

Happy Sunday!!

If your is life hurried, if your stressed or if your depressed, believe it or not one of the easiest ways to bring you back to a quick center is cleaning your windows.

Mental health experts agree that just taking a few minutes to clean both sides of all your house windows, “removes the accumulated dirt between you and the world improving your mood.”

Plus you have to admit sitting near to a bright window creates a happier atmosphere than sitting in a dark corner somewhere.

Invest In You!!!

As a nurse, my whole job is about helping people. Advocating for those who don’t know how to advocate for themselves and sometimes having a heart to heart those who don’t realize that what they are doing is harming themselves.

Now I fully realize that there are many people out there who know full well they are hurting themselves and don’t care and for them well that’s a post for another day.

This post is about my second job, as an itworks distributor. This job isn’t much different than first. It’s all about helping people. Finding what works best for someone’s lifestyle and hopefully making them happy. It’s not all about weight loss but let’s face it most people focus on that. We do have many other things.

A facial cleanser that leaves your face feeling fresh and ready for the day! A hydration supplement that helps you rock your workout or helps you bounce back from whatever just kicked your hinny. We even a mild to moderate pain reliever that helps with chronic daily pain! All these are natural and so helpful!!

So why am I penning this blog tonight? I want you to think about what change you think you might need in your life right now and then decide if you are worth that investment. Let me tell you right now, YOU ARE. You are worth every investment that you make in yourself. The time and energy that you put into your health is never wasted no matter how small it might be. You don’t have to make big changes overnight either. Little steps become big changes over time.

So take a chance and invest in you!

Water Wars

Water is the main source of our bodies. It makes up over 60 percent of our bodies and is vital to our daily lives. This is not in dispute. What is in dispute is how much water should people should be drinking on a daily basis.

According to a recent article from the Mayo Clinic, “ The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine determined that an adequate daily fluid intake is:

  • About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids for men
  • About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women” (www.mayoclinic.org, Sept. 6, 2017)

Now notice this is not water… they mention just fluid intake. The article later on does mention that the old adage of drinking 8 glasses of 8 ounces daily is not a bad idea but that some people probably don’t need it while others may be falling way short. It all depends on where you live, how much you exercise, what your diet is like and of course if you are male or female.

The Mayo Clinic did have some good solid advice that you can go by to help make sure you are staying hydrated enough, “Your fluid intake is probably adequate if:

  • You rarely feel thirsty
  • Your urine is colorless or light yellow” (www.mayoclinic.org, Sept. 6, 2017)

However, your doctor is always there to help too! They can certainly help you find the best water intake for you.
